Welcome to MacHomeworld, a site dedicated to playing the Homeworld series of games on the Apple Macintosh.

Yes, you can play Homeworld on your Macintosh! (Mac OS X required.) This was made possible when the developers, Relic, released the source code for the game. The Macintosh port is in active development with the collaboration of a number of volunteers in order to create a cross-platform version of Homeworld (see HomeworldSDL.org). The Macintosh version is currently incomplete, missing some major components such as sound and pre-rendered movie playback. However the game itself is otherwise quite playable.

Raider Retreat:
Unfortunately, Homeworld Cataclysm is NOT yet playable on the Macintosh. It is extremely unlikely that a commercial port would be done now, so the source code would have to be released for a port to happen. However, Homeworld Cataclysm was made by another company (Barking Dog Studios) under licence, so one cannot infer from Relic's release of the Homeworld source code the likelihood of the same thing happening for Homeworld Cataclysm.
Homeworld 2 for Macintosh was released in September 2004, courtesy of Aspyr Media. Buy a copy now!
