first off, atleast correct some of your spelling :-\
Mac users cannot make any content for HW2 because there are no tools available for us to make any content. However, I've read that you can a map using any text edititing program, but i didn't read into it. I also imagine a tool would be extremely difficult to make.
Basically, i think it would be easier to find someone with a PC and Homeworld 2, who is willing to help you, rather than wait around for someone to try a develope a tool from scratch. _________________ nothing here but us text! |

To give credit where it is most certainly due, most of the hard work of the original port was done by others: Michael Trepka and Tigital. I'm just the current custodian if you will.
As it happens, I was thinking about the possibility of writing some HW1/2 mod tools quite recently However, I read something somewhere that indicated that various files and things in HW2 are saved using a compression format provided by DirectX which simply isn't available on the Macintosh. Given that this affects primary things like ships which are the most desirable thing to actually change in a mod, that would mean that you'd be forced to use a PC in order to change them. And if you have to use a PC anyway then you automatically have access to all the nifty PC tools available too. In short, whilst there may be a lot of demand for such mod'ing tools on the Macintosh, I don't think it is actually possible to do so. Sorry.
Of course, if someone was to show to me that I'm talking crap then I'll definitely take a more concerted look |

| Imop, fortunately the compression used for the HW2 BIG archives is standard zlib compression, and MacOS X does contain a zlib library. I've been working very hard on HW2 tools, and I can assure you that modding is possible. However, writing the tools does require a bit of work. With that said, there is now a Macintosh HW2 BIG archive tool available for download. |
