The sound seems to be a big issue and like many I went "AAAAaaaahhhhh!" when I didn't hear anything. While reading a walkthrough of the game, I found that there was executing options (a command line thing of those who doesn't know). Most of them are freaky technical stuff but one caught my attention: "closeCaptioned". Mmmmm.... close captioning....
A few question popped into my mind:
-Are you aware of it? I'll assume you do for the moment. (didn't find anything about it in the forum)
-How do I imput such option?
-Does it work?
-Is it captionning for storyline speaches?
-If it works, can you put it as a default option in your next built if sound isn't implemented on that release? I know sound might never be done so it's an alternate solution.
Thank you for what you (and your team?) have done up to now. |

| In order to help ensure that the close-caption and the audio stayed in sync (content-wise) the two were bundled together in Relic's audio format. What this means is that unfortunately you can't read the close-caption text unless you can read the sound file and if you can read the sound file you're a lot closer to producing audio too. Now admittedly, reading text is a lot easier than decoding audio so it's not totally a lost cause. I can't commit to anything but you can be sure this aspect of the game is one that is being continually investigated - I want sound too... |

Oh well... I just hope I got enough cpu to run itunes in the background.
I would have liked to know how to imput those options I talked but until I really need to use "forced window mode" to cheat with a program called The Cheat while opening a whole new world of bug possibilities, it is not needed.
Thank you for the extra information. |
