Hi, only picked up the game yesterday, but found two problems, not that it detracts from your excellent work.
Firstly, while working my way through the tutorial, I got to the Alt-slecting, and couldnt do it. I tried for about 5 minutes on all of the ships on screen, but it wouldnt work.
Secondly, I was seaching for a subtitles button, and stumbled on a point where he game will crash in the menu. If you go to sound, then the custom sound (the equalizer), then click cancel the game crashes. I tried it again and exactly the same thing happened. Its not major, seeing as sound doesnt work but i thought id let you know anyway.

My specs-
G4 cube, 800Mhz upgrade
1 GB RAM
16MB ATI Rage 128
Standard Apple Keyboard and Mouse

This has been annoying me a great deal for a while too. In single/multi-player games alt-clicking actually focusses you on your mothership, not your target. I checked the code recently and it's pretty explicit on doing that - I assumed it was because Relic felt the "new" 3D game environment would be so confusing that they had to provide multiple easy methods to reset the view to "home". Anyway after rereading the manual and doing this tutorial again that clearly isn't the case. I'll take another look at it.

In the meantime, alt-focussing does work to a degree. Although this doesn't work in the tutorial (I think it is deliberately disabled), you can drag-select alt focus. That is, drag and hold a selection box over your target(s), press alt (an eye icon will appear) and release the mouse button. Note that order is important - pressing alt before you make your drag selection will trigger the alt-click "focus on mothership" behaviour I mentioned earlier.

Actually I am pretty sure that this is caused by Mac OS X remapping key presses. As you may know, if you press the control-key and then mouse-click, Mac OS X remaps it to a right-mouse-click (to trigger contextual menus in the Finder for example). I strongly suspect that it also remapping alt-key + mouse-click to a middle-mouse-click but I cannot find any documentation that confirms this behaviour. Certainly, whenever I press alt and mouse-click, Homeworld registers that a middle-mouse-click event occurred which has different assigned behaviour. Since this handled by the OS I am not sure what I can do about this other than remap the key...
